Here are some pics of my newly acquired 1985 GMC Sierra 1500. It has a 305 CID engine with a 4 bbl, 4 speed manual (with
granny gear), and 219,454 miles. It is a work in progress. The body is in decent shape, but has some rust in the usual
GM truck places, i.e., rocker panels, cab corners, and wheel wells. The fenders are in surprisingly good condition.
The interior is "rustic." The dash is in rather rough condition (which can be seen in a couple of the pics), and the
seat on the driver's site is coming apart (seat cover has been added since pics were taken). The oil gauge doesn't work, and
the green dash light for the left turn signal doesn't work. The guy who was driving it before me creatively installed a CD
player and strategically attached it to the floor to "theft-proof" it. 10 points for creativity! Other than that, it's in
pretty good condition:-)
Despite the mileage, the motor runs strong. The clutch was recently replaced, so now
I take her on weekly trips to the local dump and occasionally to work. I have a friend who has a couple spare Holley carbs,
and he wants to put one on it. Sounds good to me. It certainly won't hurt anything!
